I was lent a vinyl of the sisters by Betty and Alex McDonald way back in the sixties or seventies, and was absolutely enthralled. Entitled, I think, ‘Welcome to Scotland’, it featured such classics as ‘The Piper O’Dundee’. Those McDonalds, not related to the sisters, did, however, have a daughter Margaret, now a notable mezzo-soprano and vocal coach of the Halle Choir and others.
