Outlandia has been inspired by childhood off-ground dens, wildlife hides and bothys, by forest outlaws and Japanese poetry platforms. It is located in a copse of Norwegian Spruce in Glen Nevis on Forestry Commission land, at the foot of Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands, approx 3 miles from the town of Fort William. Outlandia is performative architecture, a field-station and a flexible meeting space in the forest, and was launched on 18 September 2010.
