The demise of Hi-Arts and Northings is a great blow to the cultural community of the North of Scotland. In particular I would like to thank Georgina Coburn for her wonderfully insightful reviews of visual art events and exhibitions over the years. Art will still be created but it will be even harder now to disseminate it from the far flung corners of our region. I am not optimistic that any ‘re-structuring’ of public funding for the arts will be of any immediate or significant benefit to our cause.

Thanks Kenny for all your work, support and humour. We find/found Northings inspirational and informative, and greatly appreciated the articles about our own work with Zenwing Puppets and Creativity In Care. Seems we are all in the amazing life/death/life nature of how the arts are valued… but yes, the trick is to maintain trust and confidence in the process! Maybe see you on the hills!
