Feis Cothlam 2011 – a gaelic wool festival celebrating everything woolly in Argyll is taking place from 21st to 23rd July 2011 in Benderloch, Argyll.

The main festival event is on Thursday 21st July at the LORN market held at Kintaline Plant and Poultry Centre, Benderloch PA37 1QS. In association with local foods and crafts of the area, there will be everything the organisers can add that relates to sheep, lamb, fleeces, and more.

Activities, displays and demonstrations of the following:

  • Sheep shearing
  • Gaelic Waulking singers
  • Weaving
  • Carding
  • Knitting
  • Felting
  • Lamb and mutton to eat, and to buy
  • Displays of fleeces
  • Spinning
  • Dyeing
  • Insulations
  • Compost and anything else the organisers can come up with . . .

Friday 22nd July will be local educational activities Saturday will be courses in woolly crafts in Victory Hall Benderloch, displays of heritage and creativity. Evening is a full performance by Sgioba Luaidh Inbhirchluaidh: the gaelic waulking singers.
