Future Leaders Programme 2011/2012

17 Jun 2011

An innovative development opportunity for emerging leaders from creative industries

Creative & Cultural Skills Scotland is delighted to be running a third Future Leaders programme from August 2011. This successful programme is an investment in excellence in leadership across the creative and cultural industries in Scotland, led by industry, funded by Creative Scotland and supported by HI-Arts. We are offering two programmes which will run in parallel, one in Inverness and the other in Central Scotland. Places are limited and the deadline for applications is Monday 20th June 2011.

The programme aims to:

• develop dynamic and diverse leaders for the 21st century

• develop the leadership and management skills of Scotland’s future leaders

Structure

The design of this programme follows best practice by drawing on a leadership model which is used as a basis for each of the workshops and for discussion, reflection and implementation of learning; supported by change challenges brought by the participants. The four modules that structure the programme are:

• strategy and vision

• developing people

• business processes and systems

• achieving excellence

The Future Leaders programme offers a variety of learning opportunities and is designed to be mainly experiential rather than academically based. The theory is provided through expert input, offering case studies for success and supporting the immediate application of learning into the workplace. The programme includes:

• Inspirational speakers providing master-class sessions

• Action Learning Sets for finding solutions to your challenges

• Activities including an organisational raid, empowering self and others, and enhancing your leadership presence.

• 360° feedback process and 1:1 coaching session

• MBTI Myers Briggs psychometric profiling

• Leadership Book Group

• Mentoring for ongoing support, challenge and development.

The programme is designed and facilitated by Jo Cousland and Julia Parker who developed the programme using the expertise gained from their facilitation of the Creative and Cultural Skills leadership programme since it started in 2008.
