Artists at Glenfiddich 2011 Exhibitions

The Glenfiddich Distillery in Duftown, Banffshire is pleased to announce the 2011 exhibition schedule for new works created by this summer’s Artists in Residence. The first of these opens on Friday 12th August at 6.30pm.

Mark Salinas – the programme’s first fashion designer – has produced a collection of apparel for outdoor wear inspired by the local landscape and folk lore, bound together with a strong hunting theme. On a similar theme of textile based works, Canadian artist Helen Cho has been running a series of sewing workshops with local community over the past month, the fruits of which will be included in this first exhibition.

Also to be displayed will be new paper based works by Mia Wen Husan Liu and wood cut prints by Jolanta Rejs, the third artist to be selected by the programme from the Royal Academy.

The normal refreshments and Glenfiddich cocktails will be available at the opening event to which all are welcome.

The exhibition will then remain open till mid September each Wednesday through to Sunday 12.30 – 5.30 pm.
