Aberdeen International Youth Festival Event in Findhorn

28 Jul 2011 in Dance & Drama, Moray

An annual event for the Universal Hall, the Aberdeen International creates an opportunity for vibrant young dancers to represent the culture and creative expression of their home country. This year is no exception with two extraordinary African groups arriving on 3rd August.

Akiwacu Folklore – Formed in 1998,  Burundi-based Akiwacu Folklore, created out of civil war, aim to restore lasting peace through folk dance, culture and art. They communicate by taking a modern twist on traditional music and dance and turning it into an exciting experience for the audience.

Formed 10 years ago, Adzorwo Music and Dance promote African Culture and its values both at home and abroad. The dancers are also highly skilled tribal performers who bring energy and vibrancy to every show, combining with remarkable singers and percussionists who create the rhythmic ‘heart’ of their performance.

A colourful, high energy show, not to be missed.
