Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s crowd-funding platform peoplefund.it to expand its offer to include arts by partnering with leading UK cultural crowd-funder, wedidthis.org.uk

Leading Arts crowd funding platform, WeDidThis, has announced it is to become the arts channel on peoplefund.it, the rewards based crowd-funding platform, created by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s team at Keo.

WeDidThis will be integrated into peoplefund.it on Monday, March 12, 2012, featuring a range of new arts projects looking to raise money and support for their projects. Recent successes include The Accidental Festival, a student led arts festival, a project seeking to save the Bridge Gallery in Cornwall, and an innovative performance piece for private spaces, entitled ‘the Look of the Thing’.

“We’re delighted to be teaming up Hugh and the River Cottage gang to make Peoplefund.it even bigger and better,” said WeDidThis’s Ed Whiting. “We look forward to watching the WeDidThis arts channel on Peoplefund.it continue to grow and thrive, making great arts projects happen alongside some of the excellent neighbourhood-changing ideas already funded through Peoplefund.it. We are thrilled and tremendously proud of what WeDidThis has achieved in its first year – helping 47 exciting projects to go ahead and building a new network of arts micro-philanthropists at a time when it is so desperately needed. WeDidThis and Peoplefund.it will be a great match, and an exciting future for this growing crowdfunding movement.”

“WeDidThis is the perfect arts partner for peoplefund.it,” says Peoplefund’s Nick Underhill. “We have been impressed by the quality of the team and also the nature of the projects the site has attracted, we look forward to going from strength to strength in this sector.

Peoplefund.it is an inclusive crowd-funding brand – the point is to get as many projects funded as possible – so we also hope to attract and work with more partners of similar calibre going forward.”
