ATLAS Arts is delighted to invite you to this the second in a new series of artists’ talks in which Alex Frost discusses his current art practice in installation and contemporary sculpture.

Come along and hear about the many ways artworks come into being for example through photography, digital media, as off-site projects, for large scale events or as part of a residency.

Alex Frost is one of the most distinctive artists working in Scotland today, working within the Edinburgh and Glasgow artist led scene in the late 1990s he has developed into a prominent, respected artist exhibiting internationally.

This year’s Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art saw the launch of his first permanent public art work for Easterhouse, Glasgow.

Frost’s artworks range from the miniature to the monumental, from intimate decoration to architectural intervention, and sited in many contexts; the studio, the gallery, wastelands, parks, and cultural centres. explore mosaic, from a critically engaged perspective, examining and re-invigorating this process. Frost’s works are labour intensive, their motifs often bringing into question consumer culture.
