Eden Court gears up for Panto time

29 Aug 2012 in Dance & Drama, Highland

It’s Panto Time again

Oh no it isn’t – Oh yes it is!

Heads were turning at Eden Court on Saturday as the cast from this year’s Panto, Mother Goose, popped into the theatre on a flying visit to the Highland capital. Visitors to the theatre couldn’t quite believe their eyes as the life sized Pricilla the Goose paraded around the grounds of the theatre alongside the Demon King, Squire Skinflint, Jill Skinflint, Fairy Betty and Archie Goose.

The following day, hundreds of children aged 8 – 16 from across the Highlands attended open auditions hoping to be one of the youngsters selected to join the cast as panto babes. Once again the number of people auditioning was very high and the standard of those taking part was hugely impressive.

The annual pantomime is Eden Court’s biggest production of the year. It attracts more than 30,000 people during its five week run. This year Mother Goose will be directed by Steven Wren and will star Paul Nivison as Mother Goose, Clare Waugh as Jack Goose and Derek McGhie as the Demon King.

Mother Goose opens on Tuesday 4 December 2012 and runs until Sunday 06 January 2013. Tickets are on sale now at the Eden Court Box Office tel. 01463 234 234 or visit www.eden-court.co.uk
