Announcing Scotland’s First Creative Ageing Festival: Luminate

Luminate, Scotland’s new creative ageing festival, launches on 1 October 2012 – International Day of Older People. The Festival spotlights arts activities with, by and for older people, as well as a programme for audiences and participants across the generations. The programme is packed with over 200 activities, and highlights include:

Riskiryhmä, a rock band from Finland, all women over 70. Performance and music workshops at Livingston’s Howden Park Centre, 22 October 2012.

I See You, Belgian dance company Kabinet K perform a poetic tender piece featuring three generations. Does a 9 year old see the same as a 60 year old? Performances at Tramway, Glasgow, 19 and 20 October 2012.

THAT’s Creative, short film featuring Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust participants including Dancing with Dementia and Singing with COPD. University of Abertay, Dundee 4 October and Perth Concert Hall 11 October 2012.

We are GOLDEN! The Dance Base over 60s class in a joyful, funny and heartwarming performance, followed by a free interactive easy dance class. Dance Base, Edinburgh 10 October 2012.
