Scottish fiddlers blaze a trail south for a rare visit to England

13 May 2013 in Music

Blazin’Fiddles bring the flavours of the Highlands and Islands to English venues for a rare foray south of the border during June. The tour starts on 14 June in Harrogate and finishes on 29 June in Kendal and heralds a return to England in advance of a major UK tour in 2014.

The Scottish six piece fiddle-driven band has recently undergone personnel changes and now boasts contemporary acclaimed fiddle players Jenna Reid, Bruce MacGregor, Allan Henderson and Iain Macfarlane who are joined by Anna Massie on guitar/fiddle and Angus Lyon on keyboard. The band draws on each members individual inspirations and traditions which collectively has re-invigorated and re-energised the heart and soul of the band resulting in breathtaking performances wherever they play.

Throughout the tour the band will showcase much of the the material destined for the forthcoming new album – due for release in early 2014 – as well as breathing renewed energy into many of the tunes and stories that have become audience favourites over the band’s 15 year history.

‘We are all looking forward to playing in England again’ says founding member Bruce MacGregor. ‘Our music has always been well received by English audiences and they always make us feel so welcome’
