From the creative team that brought you Mike Kenny’s The Gardener, nominated for The Children’s Theatre Prize in Germany and The Chronos Prize in France. Scarecrow is directed by Rosamunde Hutt, Associate Artistic Director of the Unicorn Theatre for Children, London.

Mike is writer of the critically acclaimed York Theatre Royal production of E. Nesbit’s The Railway Children which has enjoyed a very successful ride at the former Eurostar terminal at Waterloo station London. The award-winning production will now transfer to Toronto’s Railway Heritage Museum, where it will open this summer.

Mike was also included in the Independent on Sunday’s list of Top Ten Living UK Playwrights.

And Scarecrow was shortlisted for Best Play for Children & Young People at the The Writers’ Guild of Great Britain Awards 2010.

ajtc has toured nationally & internationally to great critical acclaim. The company has performed at numerous venues and festivals including: The Royal National Theatre, The Staddschouwburg Amsterdam, Leicester Haymarket, Unicorn Theatre, South Bank, London, Cardiff Sherman, Spark Children’s Festival, Polka Theatre, Leicester, Inspiration Children’s Festival, Glasgow, Bristol Old Vic (NewVic Studio), Plymouth Drum, The Edinburgh Festival and The Belfast Festival. Scarecrow is the company’s eighth production!

Scarecrow’s third tour follows a highly successful production of On The Black Hill, adapted by Charles Way from the novel by Bruce Chatwin, whch toured Scotland in 2009, taking in Isaly, Ardrishaig, Innellan, Strachur, Benderloch, Peebles, and St. Andrews.
