Sgoil Chiùil na Gàidhealtachd S6 Tour

The National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music is pleased to announce the dates for this year’s S6 students’ tour. This year’s tour is centred on the far north-east of Scotland, with dates in Inverness, Orkney and Wick.
The 7 S6 students will perform as 3 bands – the 3-piece, song-based “Caitlin McNeill Trio”, the instrumental 4-piece “ReSession”, and the dynamic and contemporary 7-piece “Buffs Until Tomorrow”.
The players are already well-known amongst their peers, and have performed at Celtic Connections, The Ironworks, and in support to the Donnie Munro Band. They are Caitlin McNeill on vocals and guitar, Alexander Levack on pipes and whistles, Iain MacFarlane on fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Lee MacKintosh on guitar, bouzouki and bass, Michael Ferrie on guitar and bass, Alistair Forsyth on piano and Cameron Ross on fiddle and drums.
The students will also do schools workshops in Culloden Academy and Thurso High School. The performance details are:
