Organisers of goNORTH 2011 are delighted to announce the addition of a further two festivals to the goNORTH Festival Tour 2011. Having recently confirmed three of the finest independent festivals in the country, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Wickerman Festival and Loopallu, goNORTH have announced the addition of Summer In The City 2011 and Wizard Festival to this year’s tour.

Summer In The City 2011, featuring Headliners Simple Minds and special guests Big Country, will take place on Saturday July 16 at the Northern Meeting Park, Inverness; the event will also be Simple Minds only Scottish date of 2011.

Wizard Festival takes place across August 26- 27 at the New Deer Showground in the heart of the Aberdeenshire countryside and last year featured Headliners James and The Happy Mondays.

‘We are absolutely delighted to confirm the addition of Summer In The City and Wizard to the goNORTH Festival Tour this year’, said Festival Director for Music Shaun Arnold. ‘We feel we are now in a position to offer some truly fantastic opportunities to bands throughout festival season 2011 and are genuinely thrilled with the five festivals we have secured for our first Festival Tour’.

This development will mean that all acts selected to showcase at goNORTH will also be offered the opportunity to play the goNORTH Stage at one or more of the festivals featured on the goNORTH Festival Tour 2011.
