Highland Print Studio in Inverness has announced details of their up and coming classes for April – June 2011.

Beginner/Refresher Classes – Evening Classes:

Woodcut – 17 May – 21 June 2011 (Tuesdays, 6.30pm – 8.30pm)
Create a two colour reduction print from a side-grain wood block. Learn a range of cutting and texture-making techniques using a variety of gouges and other tools.
Cost: £80 full/£72 conc.

Etching – 19 May – 23 June 2011 (Thursdays, 6.30pm – 8.30pm)
A comprehensive introduction to the techniques of creating an image consisting of line and tone by etching into a metal plate and hand printing using traditional methods.
Cost: £80 full/£72 conc.

Collagraph – 25 May – 29 June 2011 (Wednesdays, 6.30pm – 8.30pm)
Explore working with texture by building your own printing blocks from a variety of materials such as fabric, card, natural objects etc.
Cost: £80 full/ £72 conc.

Screenprinting – 30 April/1 May 2011 (Sat/Sun 10am – 4pm)
Learn to build up an image by creating a series of stencils, using a combination of cut paper and photo emulsion techniques.
Cost: £80 full/£72 conc.

Polymer Photogravure – 7/8 May 2011 (Sat/Sun 10am – 4pm)
Create unique hand-printed photographs using Adobe Photoshop, polymer plates and an etching press.
Cost: £99 full/£91 conc.

Digital Imaging – 21/22 May 2011 (Sat/Sun 10am – 4pm)
Learn the principles of image manipulation using Adobe Photoshop. Course covers use of camera to maximise source material and operation of Photoshop tools including, adjustments, selection and layers.
Cost: £80 full/£72 conc.

Monoprinting – 11 June 2011 (Sat 10am – 4pm)
Get instant results with this introduction into the most accessible form of printmaking. Learn how to manipulate links to create vibrant, multi-layered images with the intensity and depth of oil-based colour.
