Rock The Fort Festival Joins The Celebration

12 Apr 2011 in Highland, Music

2011 marks the Centenary year of the Scottish Six Days Trial with the event taking place in Fort William from April 30 to May 7. To enhance this momentous occasion for riders and spectators alike, the SSDT has teamed up with Event Scotland, HAIL and New Found Sound to present the first ever Rock The Fort festival.

The first trial took place in 1911, organised by the Edinburgh & Distric Motor Club and the event is widely regarded as the most prestigious and technically demanding motor bike trial in the world. The SSDT brings a global audience to the North of Scotland, boasting 275 riders, thousands of spectators and a weeklong festival of sports and entertainment.

The majority of activity will take place in the SSDT marquee in the main production car park in Fort Williams West End with a series of fringe events taking place throughout the High Street bars and cafes.

The entertainment programme kicks off on Saturday April 30 with the Highlands premier party band The Mystic Shoes; and from there embarks upon a diverse series of live performances from the firmly established to the most exciting contemporary acts in the country. The full programme will run from April 30 – May 6. FREE tickets and event details are available from:
