Look out for the Highlands Open Studio logo!

Highlands Open Studio (HOS) members are poised to welcome visitors – with their 2011 Calendar of Events having been distributed around the Highlands, logos prominently displayed at their premises, and car stickers adorning vehicles, members of the public can’t miss the message that Highlands Open Studio members are open for business!

HOS Chairman, Gail Steele says, “The 2011 calendar provides up-to-date information about member events, art fairs and exhibitions – and includes a map to make it easy to find studios and galleries in the area. It also serves as an open invitation to visit talented artists, makers, designers and galleries around the Highlands. The branding is strong and distinctive, we hope that visitors will quickly become familiar with the logo and follow the open studios trail!”

Many members are located off the beaten track and certainly amongst breathtaking scenery. Some open their studios all year round, or for most of the summer months – with some artists choosing to open for just one or two weeks. It’s an ideal opportunity to meet an artist and view work in progress.

Highlands Open Studios also produces an annual comprehensive listings directory of members. Directory entries appear on www.highlandsopenstudios.co.uk or printed copies are available free, with the new calendar, from member studios, and various outlets around the Highlands.

Highlands Open Studios is currently running a membership drive, and invites all professional artists, makers and galleries who live and work within the boundaries of the Highland Council region to join.
