Lau At The Stables

4 May 2011 in Highland, Music

One of the most inventive folk bands of this generation return to the Stables in Cromarty on Sunday May 15th at 7.30pm.

LAU are a formidable trio of three of the finest & most innovative exponents of modern traditional music in Britain today.  Their now infamous live shows are a must-see experience with an energy and musicianship which is spellbinding. They will be performing sets from their most recent albums

Three times  winners of BEST GROUP at the prestigious BBC Radio 2  Folk Awards, Lau are back to Cromarty where they love to perform in the excellent acoustics of the Stables.

The last album, ‘Arc Light’ is Lau at their very best and is a collection of both traditional and original songs which highlight their unique take on folk music.

Highly regarded musicians in their own right, the combined talents of Kris Drever,Martin Green and Aidan O’Rourke make for a fantastic and all-conquering trio. It is no surprise they were once again triumphant at this year’s BBC Folk Awards.

Their stratospheric rise seems set to continue as a crammed touring season in 20011 takes Lau’s ferociously impressive live show around the world again and back to Cromarty, where some of their last album was conceived.
