Sounding The Stones in Kilmartin

6 May 2011 in Argyll & the Islands

Ancient legend and the sounds of prehistory interweave among the tombs and standing stones of Kilmartin Glen. Storyteller and musician Bob Pegg leads a walk from Nether Largie to a dramatic climax at Temple Wood, in a quest for the secret hiding place of the Giant’s Heart.

The journey will be accompanied by drumming, percussion, horn, flute music, and the elemental sounds of the bullroarer.

Bob Pegg is widely known for his unique blend of music and storytelling. He has worked regularly with Kilmartin House Museum, in both performance and workshops, and created the recent show The Bishop and the Big Feller at Carnasserie Castle.

Meet at Lady Glassary car park at 5.30pm, for a journey into the primeval past. Refreshments will be available to purchase in Glebe Cairn café following the performance.

Booking is not necessary for the performance but is advisable for refreshments.

This is a free event, but donations will be welcomed. For further details call 01546 510278 or email admin@kilmartin.org.
