Ann Henderson (1921-1976): A Retrospective

A retrospective of the work of Ann Henderson will be on show in Thurso, the birthplace of this inspirational artist.

Ann Henderson was a successful sculptor, the only woman to graduate in her year from the School of Sculpture at the Edinburgh College of Art in 1945. After being awarded a post graduate scholarship and a travel scholarship to Paris Ann Henderson returned to the college as a senior lecturer becoming known and respected for her experimental techniques. She was one of the first sculptors to use polyester resins and fibreglass in an extensive way in Scotland.

This exhibition gives a rare opportunity to view her work, much of which was inspired by her love of the crofting way of life. The exhibition opens on the 18th June and runs until 4th September 2011.
