Sunday Afternoon Concert at The Stables

Sunday May 22nd at 4pm in the Stables, Cromarty, the Black Isle

A very special Sunday afternoon piano recital at the Stables in Cromarty featuring Helen Standen with Patrick Zentler-Munro

Helen Standen LRAM studied under Else Kraus (a pupil of Webern and eminent early interpreter of the second Viennese school), before becoming a professional pianist and continuing studies under Albert Ferber and  Graham Fergus Thompson.  She has worked as a recitalist, accompanist, chamber musician and teacher.  Since her move to Inverness she has become well-known as a teacher, and through her work with the Inverness Music Festival. Patrick Zentler-Munro studied under Hans Block (a fellow student with Else Kraus!)  before becoming a “junior exhibitioner” at Trinity College of Music.  He continued his studies under Eileen Broster, before moving to the medical studies in Cambridge.  He took up a Consultant Physician post in Inverness in 1987, but has continued a keen interest in the piano.

The programme will include

Fantasie in C minor W A Mozart, Variations in F minor Joseph Haydn

Impromptu in B¨ major Franz Schubert

Intermezzo in A minor, Intermezzo in E¨ Major, Ballade in D minor Johannes Brahms

Nocturne in D¨ major Frédéric Chopin, Fantasie in F Minor Franz Schubert

Tickets will cost £10 / £8 / £3 (children under 16)and refreshments will be served at the interval.
