Call for Artists – Outside Art @ Belladrum
18 May 2011 in Festival, Highland, Visual Arts & Crafts
Belladrum is a high profile, two-day music festival that attracts around 14,000 people a day.
The festival continues to evolve, and this year they aim to expose a diverse audience to cutting edge, contemporary art outside the gallery.
Collaborators and individual artists are invited to propose sculptures, installations, happenings, multi-art forms and performance art for this summer’s festival.
The theme this year is SPACE.
The Festival is looking to attract artists who will create site-specific installations and sculptures that excite, move, intrigue and inspire, while respecting the environment and interacting with festival goers.
There are quiet spaces, open sites and wooded areas where large numbers of people can sit, walk (and dance!) – giving lots of opportunity for interaction with the artwork.
Unfortunately, the Festival does not have funds to pay artists, but it’s a fantastic chance for established and emerging artists to gain some exposure – and we can offer one ticket per artist or team member plus one guest, and a contribution towards expenses and materials, based on your estimates.
Please send proposals showing scaled illustrations, together with an idea of where you envisage the work being placed, and a breakdown of your estimated expenses.
At the end of May a site visit will be arranged with the successful artists to discuss the next stages.
Please send proposals to Rosie Newman at rosiejonesnewman@gmail.com
