4 Jul 2011 in Highland, Visual Arts & Crafts
The Inchmore Gallery, near Beauly, will present an exhibition of mixed-media prints by Emma Noble. ‘Roughly cut’ will open on Saturday 16th July 2011 and run until Saturday 10th September, 2011. An opening reception will be held at the gallery on July 16th from 2pm to 5pm with an opportunity to view the works and meet the artist.
Emma’s work is informed by the urban – signage, manmade pattern and texture, and architecture. She works with a variey of print processes, predominantly screenprint and relief print to create artworks which investigate colour and shape in an experimental way, pushing the boundaries of traditional printmaking.
Emma was born and brought up in Kyle of Lochalsh. She gained an honours degree in Printmaking from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, before returning to her hometown and setting up her own studio/workshop.
