KAN in Concert and Wild West Fest at Bogbain

KAN in concert – this one looks like it’s going to be a cracker! We’re delighted that Ian Stephenson and Jim Goodwin along with Brian Finnegan and Aidan O’Rourke – front men with possibly the two most revered bands to have thrilled the folk scene, Flook and Lau – are popping in to visit us on their way up to the Heb Celt Festival in Stornoway.  As you’d expect this is a startling new line up with tunes of the highest quality and sublime musicianship.

Wild West Fest, 29-31 July

There is already quite a buzz about this one! A cowboy/country music festival with a lot of extra trimmings! You can expect to hear superb music from The Hot Seats from Virginia USA, The Shiverin’ Sheiks from Glasgow, and on Saturday night the Barnwill be transformed into the Grand Old Opry with a tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter by Christine Bovill and the Don Harris Affair, who whill also be playing some of their own songs, and Hank Williams will be depicted by a great Scottish Country singer, John Miller alongside the Shiverin’ Sheiks and Bruce MacGregor on fiddle.

There will also be line dancers, gunslingers, Tequila and bourbon bars, sheriffs, Indians, a bucking bronco competition, archery competition, big steaks, classic country karaoke and it is free entry throughout the day as long as you are in fancy dress.

Evening concerts are £10

There is free camping but you’ll have to be quick as many of the camping slots have already gone.

NB… and because we are celebrating the fact that Bogbain Farm is 200 years old, we’re giving away 200 pints of beer to the first cowpokes in through the saloon doors.
