Scottish Natural Heritage are holding a family open day at Loch Fleet National Nature Reserve, near Golspie in Sutherland, on Saturday 6th August.

The day will begin at 10.00am, and go on until 3.00pm. Events will include a butterfly walk, dog training, a musical barbecue, wildlife home building workshops (birds, bats and bugs), and lots of puzzles and games for all the family. I will be telling stories and playing music at 1.30pm.

It’s happening in an idyllic setting; usually there’s a good crowd of seals in attendance. And everything is free, even the food!
