Upcoming events involving various combinations of music, archaeology, storytelling and some fairly gentle walking.
Thursday 6th October – Roots and Flutes.
Stories, songs, and lots of wonderful musical instruments with Bob Pegg – and guest appearances from James, Horace and Des, the Dancing Men. Perfect for ages 3-5 but all pre-school children are welcome with their accompanying adults. Limited places, booking essential.
Groam House Museum, Rosemarkie. 10.30am – 11.30am.

Friday 7th October – Sounds of Yesteryear
Residents, staff, friends and relatives are invited to enjoy an afternoon of musical instruments from the recent and distant past, including squeezeboxes, penny whistles, ocarinas and jaw’s harp, as well as more unusual soundmakers such as stones, shells and bones! Played by musician and storyteller Bob Pegg.
Marine House, Rosemarkie. 2.00pm – 3.00pm.
Friday 7th October – Tales and Music of the Celtic Lands
Bob Pegg, storyteller and musician, and clarsair Bill Taylor present a delightful programme of folk tales and legends from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Brittany, together with ancient music from those countries played on a variety of harps, including the wire-strung clarsach and the Pictish harp. Suitable for adults and older children. Limited places, so booking essential.

Sunday 9th October – Walking the Stories in Torrachilty Forest
Join storyteller Bob Pegg and archaeologist Susan Kruse from ARCH for a walk through Torrachilty Forest to Rogie township, exploring heritage, stories, literary links and natural history At the end we will meet for a warm drink and biscuits, more stories, and a chance to browse the results of local research.
Meet at Torrachilty Forest carpark (NH452570). Wear stout shoes and bring waterproofs. Children welcome if accompanied by parent/guardian.
1pm – 5pm. Free.
