Discover some hidden nuggets of talent in the pre Christmas exhibition at Axototl Gallery, Dundas Street, Edinburgh, 5th to 30th November.

Katnes Folio is a collection of mixed media work from nearly 30 Caithness artists who live and work in the county.

Caithness is sometimes referred to as the Land of the Cats, Headland of the Cats, or Cattini people, hence using the old spelling of the names Katnes.

The work ranges from oil paintings, watercolours, etchings, craftwork, 3D sculptures and photographic work.

The far North is an area of spectacular coastal beauty, magnificent open spaces, wide skies and rich in archaeological and historical heritage.

It is with this as their inspiration these artists have compiled a show which highlights their passion,and love of their county as they struggle to survive in an on going battle against cutbacks in artistic fundings in the present economic climate.
