THE HUNTED

From the creators of Clockwork, Curse of the Demeter, Zorro and Jason and the Argonauts, Visible Fictions Theatre Company present the world première of The Hunted a wonderfully imaginative play suitable for 12 year olds and over.

A lone girl dares to be something nobody has been – in a place nobody dares to go.  The path is long, there will be trouble ahead and there are things out to get her . . . Take a deep breath, step into the unknown, and be prepared for your world to turn upside down.

Written by Glasgow Based playwright JC Marshall, winner of the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Award for Helium, and directed by internationally renowned theatre director Douglas Irvine who’s recent work includes Clockwork, a co-production with Scottish Opera and Curse of the Demeter, combine their talents to present The Hunted, a story in which things appear out of the shadows and stories collide.

Tackling the themes of love, deception, risk and vengeance, The Hunted does not tell it’s tale in a conventional way.  Full of twists and turns, shifts and surprising moments; a foray into the woods morphs into something sinister as we follow one young woman’s journey and end up on a different path.

SCOTTISH DANCE THEATRE

Celebrating its 25th anniversary year, SDT is delighted to perform in Findhorn Celebrating it’s 25th year, Scottish Dance Theatre comes to Findhorn for the first time performing Lay Me Down Safe by Kate Weare with a series of duets from thecompany repertoire. Lay Me Down Safe is an exploration into our human inexperience at reckoning with desire and loss. The movement is sensuous and arresting with moments of real tenderness. With an eclectic soundtrack from artists such as Nouvelle Vague, Leonard Cohen and Phillip Glass, Lay Me Down Safe asks if desire, the experience we follow like a moth to light – ultimately keeps us safe from harm, or places us right in harms way. With the clarity of movement of a Loonie Tunes, Sylvester and Tweety-Pie cartoon and the frill and delicacy of the Baroque A Little Shadery by Sally Owen is a simple study of friendship. Through the prism of a disintegrating relationship, Dreamt for Light Years by Joan Clevillé explores the nature of change as a motor in our lives. The Long and the Short of it, a gem of a duet choreographed by SDT’s Dance Agent for Change, Caroline Bowditch and Tom Pritchard, is upbeat and sexy, whilst unpacking some big ideas. Revelator by Ruth Janssen is a piece about how relationships change and transform throughout a lifetime. Suitable for ages 12 plus.
