Bruce Molsky and Skerryvore at Universal Hall

26 Oct 2011 in Moray, Music

BRUCE MOLSKY

While most identified with traditional American old-time music, Molsky’s influences range from the Appalachian soul to Delta blues; from the haunting modal strains of Irish melody, to the rhythmic music of Eastern Europe. His status as the defining virtuoso of Appalachia’s timeless folk music traditions, is confirmed by those many outstanding artists who admire his music. This is his first visit to the Universal Hall.
‘There’s an incredible power of history and tradition in his vocals’ Linda Ronstadt

With their outstanding musicianship and the mesmerising voice of singer Alec Dalglish, Skerryvore have rapidly become an international sensation, performing worldwide as well as at premier festivals such as T in the Park and Celtic Connections.
