Land of the Lochans CD launch at The MacPhail Centre

Composer James Douglas’ 12th CD on the Caritas Live label will be released by Caritas Records on Monday November 7th. ‘Land of the Lochans’ is a digitally recorded album performed by Flautist George Gwilt and James Douglas. These 9 New tracks feature performances all recorded in The Macphail Centre, Ullapool, and all reflect the land and beauty of NW Scotland, which has been Douglas’ home for almost 6 years and has been a source of inspiration to the Composer for much of his life.

Although the CD will be on sale from Monday 7th November 2011, the Composer, his family and friends will be appearing at a special Launch Party to be held at The Macphail Centre, Mill Street, Ullapool on Tuesday 8th November from 7.30-9pm. James Douglas will be signing copies of the CD on the evening and there will be a chance to hear some performances and also a taste of the CD, whilst you receive some complimentary refreshments, wine or soft drinks.

‘Land of the Lochans’ by James Douglas features many wonderful performances by Flautist George Gwilt and Pianist James Douglas. Featured on this CD are Live digital recordings of 9 tracks, including ‘Suilven’ (from A Procession of White Mountains), ‘The Sun Dancing’ for solo Flute, ‘To Skye,’ ‘Songs of a Nomad Flute’ and the first performance of a New composition by James Douglas: ‘Scena: Lammermuir Hills’ for Keyboard.
