Winter Exhibition and The CD Collection at Inchmore Gallery

7 Nov 2011 in Highland, Visual Arts & Crafts

Winter Exhibition and The CD Collection are two new exhibitions, running simultaneously, at Inchmore Gallery, near Inverness which will open on Saturday 19th November 2011 from 2pm until 5pm (refreshments provided), The exhibition then runs until Saturday 7th January 2012.

The CD Collection – Inchmore Gallery had invited submissions from all disciplines and had encouraged work from emerging and established artists. The exhibition will open and run simultaneously with the Mixed Christmas Exhibition featuring new work from familiar Gallery artists as well as some new ones. CD submissions were 12x12cm in size, unframed and are for sale. Up to 6 pieces could be submitted by each artist in any medium, but it had to ultimately fit into, or be able to be glue onto, a CD case.

The project aim was to demonstrate the versatility and talent of local and national artists. The aim was to make this the largest display of small, but perfectly formed, pieces of art and craft work anywhere in the Highlands and Jane Owen Inglis of Inchmore Gallery had hoped for a diverse mix of pieces. Having already received 80 individual, superbly crafted, works of art, it has surpassed Jane’s expectations.
