Kosmos String Trio on tour

8 Mar 2012 in Argyll & the Islands, Highland, Music

Kosmos unites the rich texture of the string trio with the depth and integrity of traditional music from the Balkans and beyond. With their inspiring fusion of folk music traditions from around the world, sophisticated jazz glides magically into wild gypsy fiddling, emotive Jewish music into hot-blooded Tango, free improvisation into Arabic melody.

Kosmos has received fantastic critical acclaim and Richard Morrison of the Times praises: “I’ve heard Kosmos several times now and love not just their unique mixing of Middle Eastern, East European and Western classical traditions but also their telepathic rapport, dazzling virtuosity, serious scholarship, intellectual curiosity and impeccable musicianship. I defy you not to be mesmerised.” Richard Morrison, The Times.
