Scottish Dance Theatre at the Sunart Centre

21 Mar 2012 in Argyll & the Islands, Dance & Drama

The Scottish Dance Theatre (SDT), Scotland’s national contemporary dance company, returns to the Sunart Centre with a new season of work.

The programme includes a new group work Pavlova’s Dogs, specially created for SDT by Rachel Lopez de la Nieta. An experiment in watching dance, Pavlova’s Dogs is inspired by Pavlov’s theory and the choreographer’s interest in the humour you can find in the absurdity of human behaviour.

We recommend that the themes and language used in this work are only suitable for people over the age of 16 but leave it to the discretion of parents/guardians.  Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

SDT have offered an informal interval discussion for the audience during the interval to inform the audience about Pavlova’s Dogs and to discuss with the audience some of the themes and content.

Following the interval SDT present My Sweet Little Fur by Israeli choreographer, Idan Cohen, is a dialogue between a man and the hounds residing in him. An intelligent piece arousing questions about cultural behaviour opposite animalistic ones.

Audiences will also be treated to the choreographic skill and talent coming from within the company with performances of three new works created by SDT dancers: A Touch of Red, Love Games and All in the Grip.

Wednesday 28 March, 8pm.

Tickets £10 (under 18s £7).
