Insider 2012 – The Olympiad
13 Apr 2012 in Highland, Music
Featuring as many as none of the world finest athletes, sportsmen and celebrities but with outstanding musical line up and mouth watering food and drink, all enjoyed in beautiful surroundings with beautiful people, the Insider is the must do sporting event of 2012.
‘Anarchic, beautiful, otherworldly and above all seriously good craic’ – Aidan O’Rourke (Lau).
‘Like a scene from a fairytale’ – Rachel Sermanni
‘An open air europop orgy of sweaty hirsute euphoria… One of the finest festivals I have ever attended’ – Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow).
‘The talent would kick the shit out of any other fest in Scotland, or the UK I’d wager. What a magical place’ – Mike Kearney.
On your marks…
The Insider is renowned as a festival by musicians for musicians. Eschewing the possibility of untold riches through fine financial control in favour of filling a field with an ungodly array of talent, the directors of Backwoods productions are busy weaving together the fourth Insider. Trust us – while at this stage only the merest hints of our line up have been revealed you can rest assured it’s eclectic, it’s intelligent and it’s never really finished, even once the party’s started.
So far we have; Optimo Espacio presents: a Backwoods Stage takeover with Optimo DJs, Den Haan (live), Organs Of Love (live); KAN; Session A9; Three Blind Wolves; Rae Morris; Remember Remember; The Mike Kearney Ka-Tet; Stanley Odd; The Little Kicks; This Is The Kit, ‘The Despots Ball’ feat: The Loveboat Big Band; Babelfish; Federation of the Disco Pimp; Grandma Sta-Flash and the Furious Grandads and many more to come…
Get Set…
In 2012, side by side with our wider nation, we come together in a celebration of sport. Insider 2012 offers multi disciplinary eventing for the sports casual – a hustle and bustle of tussles and muscles. In the name of international cooperation, for one weekend only, we are granting diplomatic immunity to heads of state to compete in our head to head for heads of state.
On Friday the sports commence and we continue through Saturday with our big, camp, overblown not-at-opening-time opening ceremony, and carry on though into Sunday night when all visiting dignitaries are invited to the soon to be infamous Despots and Dictators ball…
