25 May 2012 in Visual Arts & Crafts

The J D Fergusson Arts Award Trust is now inviting entries for its prestigious Exhibition Award.

The Award provides a great opportunity to a visual artist, including:

– £4,000 for research and development of new work.

– Opportunity for a solo exhibition of your completed work at The Fergusson Gallery in Perth in 2013.

– Funding and production of an illustrated catalogue to accompany the exhibition.

– Acquisition of work into Perth & Kinross Council’s permanent collection.

Entry is open to all artists who were born in Scotland or have lived more than half their life there. You must have graduated more than three years ago, and not have won an award previously over the value of £1,000 within the last two years.

The J D Fergusson Arts Award Trust has provided a prestigious annual art award since it was established in 1995. The award alternates each year between a travel bursary and funding to develop new work for a solo exhibition at the Fergusson Gallery. Previous winners of the exhibition award have produced new work in various mediums including printmaking, painting, textiles and kinetic sculptures.

Deadline for submission of applications is 5pm on Wednesday 31 October 2012.
