There have been some interesting challenges in choosing the music for this show, as there were literally hundreds of pieces which were picked out by the staff. There have also been some new challenges for the performers in rehearsing this show, as we will hear in the Gladiator music. The hauntingly hummable melodies are set to a text which is essentially Idioglossia, or quite literally, words which were made up by the composer. The performers have been tirelessly memorising the song’s unique phonetic sounds, which create an other worldly effect that is absolutely spell binding.

This show will also feature a plethora of vocal soloists across the board; the young singers are given new challenges, and whilst many will be no strangers to singing solo, some of our newer members will be taking the platform alone for the first time.

Finally, the 10 rehearsals that will make up the performance at the end of June will not see its last performance at Nairn. Showstopperz have once again been invited to perform at the Belladrum festival for 2012, and will be appearing on both days of this enormous event. Keep a close eye on our website for performing times.
