These Precious Things (10am – 4pm daily until 12th August 2012)
An exhibition of fine art and jewellery featuring artists who work with precious materials and processes. With work by Vicki Ambery-Smith, Susan Brown, Rachel Grant, Mhairi Khillin, Sarah Macintyre, Merlin Planterose, Jenny Pope, Laura Sutherland, Charlotte Watters and Lucy Woodley, this is a unique gathering of exquisite work – don’t miss it!

Mara workshop on the Pier (Saturday 11th August 2012, 11am – 1pm, in the harbour marquee on Ullapool Pier)
A drop-in workshop for all ages to make your contribution to our forthcoming Mara exhibition. Led by Mandy Henderson, the workshop will take advantage of the fact that the Ullapool skiff regatta will be happening at the waterfront to add extra inspiration to your sea-themed piece of art!

Raku tea party (Saturday 11th August 2012, 2 – 5pm at an talla solais)
Glaze and fire a raku tea bowl. £15 per person, including your bowl to take home. Come and take part in this special raku firing session which will culminate in a Japanese tea ceremony. To book please contact Joanna by replying to this email or calling 01854 612310.

Fiona Hutchison: Where Two Tides Meet (Opening 7-9pm on Friday 17th August 2012; show continues 18th August – 9th September 10am – 4pm daily)
An exhibition of woven tapestry, stitched paper and glass, inspired by the sea. You are invited to opening of this special solo show. Artist Fiona Hutchison will be introducing her working methods at a workshop the next day: see below.

Mara launch and Silent Auction
(Opening 7-9pm on Friday 17th August 2012; auction lasts until 4pm on Monday 20th August; show continues to 9th September 10am – 4pm daily)
Please come to our silent auction to raise critical funds for An Talla Solais. Bring your friends and neighbours, and come and see the results of the Mara project, opening at the same time as Fiona Hutchison’s Where Two Tides Meet. For the weekend only you can bid for your favourite Mara squares! Any squares not snapped up at the auction will be on sale for the rest of the exhibition.

Tapestry workshop: exploring warp and weft (Weekend of 18th and 19th August 2012, 10-4pm)
Exhibiting artist Fiona Hutchison will be teaching this workshop alongside her summer show, Where Two Tides Meet. Tapestry weaving for beginners and advanced students: all materials are provided. Stained glass weekends (To be confirmed)
