17 Aug 2012 in Argyll & the Islands, Dance & Drama

SCOTA-LAND by Andy Cannon

Andy Cannon & Mull Theatre, in association

with Bank of Scotland Imaginate Festival a Wee Night Out

The Isle of Mickle is famous for just one thing; “The Crown of Destiny”, a national icon on display in Scota-land, the famous museum and visitor centre. The Crown, given to Scota – the legendary Egyptian princess whose descendants became the Scots – on the day of her wedding, had not been removed from its plinth for more than 100 years… Until the day of the Great Storm, when disaster struck! A wonderful story-telling experience, with live music. “Fabulous!” Mary Brennan, Herald*****

Following a highly successful spring school’s tour, and a London 2012 school tour, Mull Theatre will tour this show throughout Argyll and the Highland and Islands, Sept 10 – Nov 9 .

The Man Who Had All the Luck by Arthur Miller

Sell A Door in association with Mull Theatre

David Beeves is a motor mechanic in a small rural Midwest American town in the late 1930s, who day after day is blessed with good fortune. In contrast, his family and friends face difficult times. While those around him suffer everyday failures from redundancy to infertility, David continues to prosper. Yet the more success he achieves, the more guilty, depressed and paranoid he feels about the plight of others. Soon he begins to wonder what will happen when his luck runs out…

This remained one of Arthur Miller’s least-known plays for more than 50 years until it was revived in 2000 and staged thereafter in several productions. This year, nationally renowned Sell a Door Theatre Company, in association with Mull Theatre, tour Miller’s masterpiece across the UK for the first time, from Orkney to London.
