Caithness Castle Creations set to launch

30 Oct 2012 in Highland

As a regular arts writer for The Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News and Daily Record newspapers these past 12 years – and as one-time reviewer for Northings – I am changing my career as of this week.

From the 1st of November, I’ll be relocating to Caithness to set up a new arts company – Caithness Castle Creations – with my partner, Lorna Diamond.

Based at the Castle Gatehouse Lodge at Thurso East (year-round), we’ll be launching in the New Year.

Our main aims focus on Events Management (KW Events, a year-round programme featuring high-quality theatre, comedy, entertainments and music), Tea-In-A-Bowlie Theatre (short plays theatre, taking theatre to all rural areas of Caithness), and Henrietta Storytelling/ Tours (historic walking tours and folk-lore storytelling sessions).

We’re an inclusive organisation and we aim to make ourselves accessible to everyone interested in entertainment in the far north. We hope to utilise local writers, actors, musicians, etc., too, so if you want to get involved, please write to us at: caithnesscastlecreations@gmail.com

I’ll still be freelancing, so if anyone is doing anything newsworthy or interesting, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Cheers,

Barry
