Created over a period of several years Steve has produced a body of work that is inspired by the writings of Neil M Gunn.

Fascinated by the authors painterly and poetic descriptions of subject and environment – a world imagined and fictional, felt by the human spirit and yet, at the same time directly relating to the landscape of Caithness, its physicality and presence and sense of place. The body of work conveys a passing, a timelessness and of mans relationship with its historical and industrial past and present.
