Dates announced for goNORTH 2013

26 Nov 2012 in Highland, Music

We are pleased to announce that goNORTH 2013 will take place on the 5th and 6th of June next year. The thirteenth edition of Scotland’s premier creative industries festival will again be held across several venues in Inverness City Centre.

The conference element of goNORTH 2012 attracted over 700 delegates to the Highland capital and boasted the broadest range of creative industry activity in the event’s history. The showcase schedule saw over 60 emerging acts perform and over 50 short films screened across two nights. We also launched Radio goNORTH, a dedicated radio station established to broadcast exclusive sessions and interviews throughout the festival.

“We are delighted to confirm the dates for next year’s goNORTH”, said Festival Director, Amanda Millen. “Last year’s event proved our most ambitious and successful to date, with a significant increase in both audience figures and range of creative content. We are really looking forward to delivering another world class event in the Highlands of Scotland and are excited to be starting our 2013 campaign.”

Last year’s goNORTH Festival Tour also saw us programming new music and films across some of the finest independent festivals in the country, including Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, The Wickerman Festival, Tiree Music Festival, Loopallu, Summer in the City 2012 and B-Fest.

We were also delighted to develop fresh opportunities for emerging talent across the wider UK, Mainland Europe and the US- with partners including MUSEXPO (US), Yellow Phone (US), SPOT Festival (DK), Freeze Festival (NL), PLAY Festival (BE) and London FolkFest (UK). We were also thrilled to project manage the delivery of new artists to the world’s largest music festival, Summerfest, in Milwaukee.

As always, all panels, workshops, screenings and live showcases will be free and fully open to the public.
