Seasons Greetings and a look ahead from Cromarty
20 Dec 2012 in Highland
From all of us here at Cromarty Arts Trust, we’d like to wish you a very happy Christmas and all the very best for 2013.
Huge thanks to everyone that supports us and the Stables.
This year we have been very lucky to have had some terrific musicians and artists with us. Some great concerts including Maire ni Chathasaigh and Chris Newman, some wonderful Chamber music concerts – McFall’s Chamber – watch out for a return visit from them with a new project in 2013.
We’ve hosted fascinating and exquisite exhibitions – Philip Hughes was particularly interesting and our visit from a couple of Finnish artists will develop into a future event. We’re also going to be hosting a fabulous exhibition by Jonathan Shearer in the spring and summer months.
We’ve got lots of exciting concerts too- some great Chamber music events planned with Simon Evans, Bill Taylor, Bob Pegg and Chrissie Stewart, and a Round Britten concert with cellist Matthew Barley. A return visit in May from Dave Milligan and Colin Steele will be very welcome too for you jazz fans.
A very special event this year is our Crime and Thrillers weekend at various venues around Cromarty and Resolis on April 12-14. Put these dates in your new diary because you won’t want to miss it. Workshops and talks by Ian Rankin, Val McDermid, Anne Perry and David Hewson. And a very exciting Murder Mystery dinner at the Royal Hotel in Cromarty too! Lots of information to come about this one. Cahalen Morrison & Eli West will be performing at Resolis Hall on the Saturday night as part of the weekend’s fun.
Keep looking at the website for more details and we will very much look forward to seeing you at the Stables next year.
Just a reminder about the first concert for 2013. You don’t have to book in advance because our office will be closed so just come along and give your donation at the door.
Saturday January 5th The Stables, Cromarty at 7pm
Concert featuring Tamzene Allison, Arran Alderson, Amelia Donald and Douglas Miller. Tamzene is raising money for a music tour to South Africa in 2013 so please come along and hear some of the local young talent perform their own songs as well as some cover versions in a wonderful acoustic concert. Tea, coffee and cakes will be served during the interval. And donations of £5 are suggested.
