Strathpeffer Pavilion Hogmanay Party 2012
20 Dec 2012 in Highland
The Pavilion Hogmanay party will not be taking place this year as a mark of respect to Selwyn Roberts who had played an integral part in the event since 2007.
Selwyn Roberts died suddenly in October which was a great shock to the whole community.
Pavilion manager Andrea Muir says: ‘We had worked with Selwyn every year on creating an exceptionally well-attended and popular Hogmanay party. His energy and enthusiasm made the event very special and to go ahead without him this year would have been too tough for all concerned.’
Selwyn was also known for hosting a regular ceilidh to fundraise for Highland Hospice in honour of his wife Esther who passed away in 2009.
Andrea Muir continues: ‘We are delighted that Feis Rois are getting together with Selwyn’s family and friends and are going to hold Esther’s Ceilidh on 2nd March next year at the Pavilion as a tribute to Selwyn, his wife Esther, and his love of life and music.
We shall re-instate the Hogmanay party next year and while it won’t be the same without Selwyn, it will be a great event on the Ross-shire calendar and we’ll make sure that it is filled with its usual spirit of joy.’
