Rachel Sermanni Announces Special Burns Night Release

Following an incredible 2012, twenty one year old folk-noir balladeer Rachel Sermanni begins 2013 with the release of her beautiful acoustic version of Robert Burns ‘Ae Fond Kiss’ on Friday 25th January. An established live favourite, this stunning, stripped back interpretation showcases the full range of Rachel’s vocal talents.
One of the most captivating live prospects in the UK, 2012 saw Rachel deliver over 150 spellbinding performances, including debut headline tours of the UK and mainland Europe. She also toured extensively across Asia and North America, increasing her profile significantly across a range of new markets.
2012 also saw the much anticipated release of her debut album ‘Under Mountains’ to a fantastic critical response, with Rachel garnering praise across a broad range of respected media- ‘striking’ Mojo; ‘folk of the highest order’ Time Out; ‘Under Mountains is as close to a perfect folk record you’re likely to hear this year’ The Line of Best Fit.
Ae Fond Kiss will be released on Middle of Nowhere Recordings with all profits from the sale of the CD going to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland. “We are delighted and honored that Rachel has chosen Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland as the beneficiary for this beautiful version of Ae Fond Kiss”, said Chairman of NRMTS Fundraising Committee, Donald MacLeod. “Not only is it a wonderful way to celebrate our Baird’s birthday, it will also raise vital funds for our charity which provides music therapy to children and adults across Scotland. Also, every penny raised in Scotland, stays in Scotland”.
