2 May 7 pm to 9 pm Strathpeffer Pavilion Public and Stakeholder Summit, being arranged in association with Community Enterprise to explore future uses of the Pavilion. Free event, all welcome. Community Enterprise are keen to involve as many people as possible and so will also hold a drop-in session from 3 pm to 4.30 pm for those who can’t come in the evening

Photographs by top local photographers – confirmed participants so far include Ed Duncan, Jacqi Elmslie, Mary Foley, Eoghain Maclean, Photography & Design, Roddy Ritchie, Iain Sarjeant, Helen Suzanne and Russell Turner. We’re delighted to report that Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year Charlie Phillips has agreed to take part. On sale will be wall art, calendars, cards and gifts. Plus teas with home baking. 22 May 7 pm Strathpeffer Pavilion Association AGM – members of the Association will be notified officially but everyone interested in the Pavilion is welcome to attend. After the formal business, there will be a presentation by General Manager Andrea Muir, followed by the AGM of Friends of the Pavilion.

 

6 June 8 pm The Inverness Mahler Players and soprano Emily Mitchell perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and works by Debussy and Martinu. Tickets £9 (£7 for seniors, £5 for under 26s) on sale very soon. The Inverness Mahler Players is a new ensemble founded for this project and features some of the area’s finest musicians, conducted by Tomas Leakey. There will also be performances at Dornoch Cathedral on 5 June and Nairn Community Centre on 7 June, for which tickets will also be available from Strathpeffer Pavilion.

 

8 June from 10 am Strathpeffer’s famous annual Victorian Market Day, with a variety of stalls and events and this year incorporating an Art & Music Trail in various venues around the village. Teas with delicious home baking by Friends of the Pavilion and the Church of Scotland will be on sale in the Pavilion, along with an exhibition of old photographs.

14 June 10 am Sticky Kids present a Funky Monkey Singalong. The Sticky Kids team presents hugely popular interactive shows for children up to 7 years old, which invariably sell out at the Pavilion. 15 June 8 pm Fiona Kennedy – Fiona’s previous Pavilion concert – a tribute to her father the great Calum Kennedy – sold out in advance. We are delighted to welcome her back with her own show, “Fiona and Ruairidh on the Road – The Wee Osprey Tour”, featuring Ruairidh McDonald. Fiona says this is a vibrant celebration of music both ancient and modern, featuring a newly-released song written especially for Ruairidh, “Fly Lady Fly”. The song celebrates the record-breaking osprey ‘Lady’, who has made an annual 6,000-mile round trip to return to Dunkeld for over 20 years. 28 June 8 pm Scottish Chamber Orchestra – the SCO makes its popular annual visit to the Pavilion. Under the baton of dynamic young conductor Gergely Madaras, the SCO performs Beethoven’s ever-popular “Eroica” Symphony, alongside music by Weiner and Ibert with virtuosic SCO Principal Flute Alison Mitchell as soloist. 4 Aug 8 pm Coast, the brilliant Celtic rock band from Southampton (yes really!) who impressed both the audience and Pavilion staff on a previous visit. Two of the band members grew up in the Western Isles and were greatly influenced by local music. They are now managed by Runrig drummer Iain Bayne.
