A Musical Intro to Scots Language

High Life Highland would like to invite you and your friends to an exciting talk about the Scots language by Dr Fred Freeman, with musical examples drawn from Fred’s numerous and varied Scottish folk music CDs’.

Dr Fred Freeman is author of two books on Scottish poetry and over a 100 articles on Scottish literature, folk music and history; producer / musical director of some 45 CDs, including his massive 12 vol, COMPLETE SONGS OF ROBERT BURNS (Linn Records). He has taught at both the School of Scottish Studies and the English Department at University of Edinburgh; and also held postdoctoral posts at Edinburgh and Oxford universities.

The talk will be held at the St Fergus Gallery on Thursday 23rd May 2013 from 6-8pm.

Tickets cost £5, concessions £3 and booking is essential.
