3 Sep 8 pm Dogstar Theatre presents The Baroness, starring Roberta Taylor.  A searing psycho-sexual drama, The Baroness is set in the early 1950s and tells the story of the intense friendship between the 62-year-old Karen Blixen, the writer of Out of Africa, and Thorkild Bjornvig, 29-year-old rising star of Danish poetry.  Blixen’s Svengali-like relationship with Bjornvig challenged his notions of love, loyalty and what it is to be an artist.   This remarkable play by Thor Bjorn Krebs premiered in Denmark in 2011 to ecstatic reviews. Dogstar presents the UK premiere at An Lanntair on 31 August – the second performance is at the Pavilion. Tickets £10 (conc. £8) on sale very soon.
