2 Mar 7.30 pm Esther’s Ceilidh for the Highland Hospice, organised by Feis Rois as a tribute to both Esther and Selwyn Roberts. Feis Rois say that many of Selwyn’s musician friends are keen to take part and performers will include Ceilidh Mor, Reel Din and Highland Ceilidh Band. 14 Apr 8 pm Opera Bohemia – following critically acclaimed productions of La Bohème and Lucia di Lammermoor, Opera Bohemia makes a most welcome return to the Pavilion with Puccini’s very popular opera Madame Butterfly, set in modern day Japan. 17 Apr 8 pm Edwyn Collins – Ivor Novello Award winning musician Edwyn Collins is to perform at the Pavilion as part of his Spring 2013 “Understated” tour. First coming to fame as the frontman of Scottish group Orange Juice (“Rip it Up”, “I Can’t Help Myself” etc.), Edwyn Collins went on to a solo career, including the international hit, “A Girl Like You”. He recently returned to the music scene after a serious illness and particularly asked his agent to include the Pavilion in this tour. 28 June 8 pm Scottish Chamber Orchestra – the SCO makes its popular annual visit to the Pavilion. Under the baton of dynamic young conductor Gergely Madaras, the SCO performs Beethoven’s ever-popular “Eroica” Symphony, alongside music by Weiner and Ibert with virtuosic SCO Principal Flute Alison Mitchell as soloist.
