The Hebridean Celtic Festival emerged victorious as Best Large Festival at the industry-sponsored Scottish Event Awards this week.

Six Lewis Chessmen from the collections of National Museums Scotland and the British Museum are to go on display for a short time at Uig Museum on Tuesday 13 September 2011.

Uig museum is a local history museum with extensive genealogical detail and archives.

Based in the community secondary school in Benbecula.
